About the application

The Application is operated by Mibowork Pty Ltd ACN 635 937 763. Access to and use of the Application, or any of its associated Products or Purchase Services, is provided by Mibowork Pty Ltd ACN 635 937 763. Please read this document (‘Privacy Policy’) carefully. By using, browsing and/or reading the Application, this signifies that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the Privacy Policy, you must cease usage of the Application, or any of its Purchase Services, immediately.

Mibowork Pty Ltd ACN 635 937 763 reserves the right to review and change any of the Privacy Policy by updating this page at its sole discretion. When Mibowork Pty Ltd updates the Privacy Policy, it will use reasonable endeavours to provide you with notice of updates to the Privacy Policy. Any changes to the Privacy Policy take immediate effect from the date of their publication. Before you continue, we recommend you keep a copy of the Privacy Policy for your records.

Mibo respects the privacy of individuals and is committed to complying with all privacy laws that apply to Mibo. This includes the privacy act 1988 (cth) and other laws which protect the privacy of personal information in Australia.

Mibo and Personal Information

What is personal information?

Personal information is any information or opinion which identifies an individual or can be used to identify an individual. It includes information that is generally available in the public such as name, address and telephone number. It also includes sensitive information such as one’s ethnic origin, religious beliefs and affiliation, criminal record, health information and genetic information etc.

The personal information we collect

We collect personal information including an individual’s name, age, contact details, gender and relationship with us. With an individual’s consent or as permitted by law, we also collect personal information including sensitive information (specifically health information) pertaining to well-being, work productivity and exercise preferences, necessary to function and deliver specific services our user requires.  Generally, we only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for enabling our services and functions as an organisation.

Collection and holding of personal information

When you interact with the mibo application, personal information will be collected via on-boarding questions that may be updated, through our digital well-being assessments, in surveys, while viewing content and participating in exercises. The collection of this personal information is made for the purposes of providing the most individualised and effective service to the user.  Providing Mibo with personal information is done voluntarily. If you decide however not to, Mibo may be limited in the ways in which it can help you. In the circumstances where personal information is not collected directly from the individual, we will take reasonable steps either to notify or to ensure the individual is aware that we have collected their personal information and the circumstances of the collection.

Use of data for research and statistical analysis

Data collected from users and de-identified may be used for the purposes of research, statistical analysis or publication purposes. Data may be used to better understand our customers, enhance business performance, provide clients with information to improve product usage and improve our services.  This data and analysis will in no way identify individual users.

Personal information security

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We store electronic information on secure servers. Connections between our products are encrypted using SSL technology. We require all persons authorised to access electronic information to use logins and passwords to access such information.

We require all our contractors and others to whom we disclose personal information or whom may have access to personal information we collect, to keep such personal information private and to protect such personal information from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

Unless we are prevented to do so by the law, we de-identify or destroy securely all personal information we hold when no longer reasonably required by us.

Disclosure of personal information

We use and disclose personal information for the primary purpose for which it was collected, secondary purposes and other purposes authorised by the privacy legislation applying to this Privacy Policy which, depending on your use of our services, will be the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and/or the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld) (‘the Act’).

Personal information can be disclosed in obtaining advice from professional advisers, responding to complaints or inquiries from authorized bodies, or responding to subpoenas, legal orders or reporting obligations. (including reporting to Child Protection Authorities or Police in situations where someone is judged to be at risk of self-harm, or of harming others. Uprise staff are also obliged to report to Police information obtained about the commission or suspected commission of a criminal act).

Disclosure to overseas recipients

It is not typical or routine for Mibo to disclose personal information overseas.  We may disclose personal information about an individual to overseas recipients only where consent to such disclosure is given by that individual or where required or authorised by law.  We will take all steps as are reasonable in the circumstances to ensure that overseas recipients do not breach the Australian Privacy Principles which apply upon such disclosures.

Accessing and correcting personal information

Users are able to access personal information through the menu section of the mibo mobile application.  You can update or delete your data at any time.  In the interest of mibo providing the best service possible, it is advised that personal information be kept updated. If the event that personal information cannot be updated, users should contact mibo via email – support@mibowork.com.au.

Asking questions or making a complaint about mibo’s handling of personal information

You can ask Mibo a question anytime with regard to our privacy policy, or our use or disclosure of personal information. If your question has not been answered to your satisfaction, we ask that you make a complaint to us in the first instance. We will investigate your complaint and try to promptly resolve your complaint directly with you.

If you are not satisfied with the outcome, then you may make a complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (‘OAIC’) on 1300 363 992. For information about how to make such a complaint, please refer to the OAIC website http://www.oaic.gov.au/.
